3M's basic Filtrete filter. The MERV 8 efficiency is better than an average pleated filter, but not as good as Filtrete's Micro Allergen or Ultra Allergen models. The Model 600 utilizes a "pinch pleat" design, which does not have the rigid and more costly frame cross members that are standard on 3M's higher-end models. The "pinch pleat" design saves you money. These MERV 8 pleated filters utilize electrostatically charged, 100 percent synthetic Kimberly Clark media which offers significantly higher particulate efficiency than regular poly-cotton media pleated filters, with little change in static pressure. These filters capture airborne particles/allergens between three to ten microns in size such as particles that carry viruses and bacteria, pollen, mold spores, fine dust and pet dander. The filter media will not promote the growth of bacteria, mold, mildew, or fungi in normal operating environments, and has not been chemically treated.
